A mechanical vise asks an operator to do something: turn a handle, torque a screw, check it twice. That works until the cell runs unattended, the cycle time is measured in seconds, or the day's part count is in the thousands.
The APV-160-A and APV-160-B are pneumatic clamping vises: a single air supply delivers the same clamping force on cycle one and cycle ten thousand — no handle, no operator judgment call, no drift.
Both share the same 160×160mm footprint, base jaw pattern, and three mounting options. The only real decision is how much force the part needs.

Short Stroke / High Clamping Force
42 kN clamping force — enough headroom for aggressive roughing cuts and heavier stock without adding a second clamping station.
2.6mm travel per jaw keeps the stroke tight and the cycle fast. Runs on the same 30–130 PSI shop air as every other 5th Axis pneumatic product — no dedicated regulator required.

Long Stroke / Low Clamping Force
9 kN clamping force with a longer, more forgiving stroke for general production work, where stock varies slightly from part to part.
8.2mm travel per jaw, the same 30–130 PSI supply, and the same base pattern as the -A — mix force tiers by station without changing footprint.

Three Mounting Configurations.
Every APV-160-A and APV-160-B ships with the fasteners for all three in the box — pick the one that matches your fixture plate.
Important: all required pins and fasteners are included in the box for whichever mounting configuration you choose — 2x 8mm pins + 4x M10 screws, 2x SB10 + 2x M10 screws, or 2x 13mm bushings + 4x M10 screws. A full mounting-base design guideline with hole patterns and tolerances is available on request for fixture plate design.
A Dual-Interface Base Jaw.
Serrated gripper teeth as standard, or dovetail-prep the master jaw for a more positive lock on hardened material.
Gripper teeth for materials under 25 HRC; dovetail-prep the master jaw above 25 HRC for a more positive lock.

Both models slide onto the same LiteVise™ family accessory jaws when using the VSJ-APV-160 master jaw — VGA-VA5 and VAJ-VA5 jaws carry over directly. Max allowable accessory pressure is 20 PSI on the APV-160-A and 90 PSI on the APV-160-B.
